About Me

Hi, my name is Evodio Garcia! Thanks for checking out my portfolio. I’m an automotive mechanic turned software developer, who went from breaking down cars to breaking down code. I am a San Diego Native, and love to learn new information. I love working with my hands, it’s why I love coding and being a problem solver! Down below is timeline of my journey so far.

Infocenter

Collaborated with stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into actionable development tasks, ensuring solutions aligned with business objectives and scalable design patterns. Modules worked with include HRSD, WSD, ITSM, and CSM. Delivered configurable HR services within HRSD using the Generic Lookup Table for dynamic field lookups and advanced scripting to control variable-level access. Designed and implemented the Employee Service Center (ESC) portal taxonomy, applying custom CSS and UX refinements to meet branding and usability standards. Led development on a comprehensive Workplace Service Delivery (WSD) implementation, building reservation modules, configuring indoor mapping, and integrating the Outlook Add-in to streamline workspace booking reservations. Built and maintained custom ServiceNow portal widgets for the Customer Service Management (CSM) and Community modules, leveraging Script Includes, creating custom m2m tables to connect data, custom HTML/CSS, and AngularJS. Used AngularJS methods to enable widget communication on complex ServiceNow portal pages, allowing dynamic data exchange and coordination between custom widgets. Developed reusable components, including a favorites feature for blog articles and a rating system modeled after the Knowledge article feedback pattern, enhancing community engagement and usability. Developed a custom Incident and Problem Priority Calculator that enhances the out-of-box (OOB) priority model by introducing an additional layer of metrics collected via an assessment. The assessment is launched from a UI Action in Service Operations Workspace, prompting users to answer context-specific questions. Upon submission, the responses trigger a Flow Designer workflow that evaluates answers using decision tables to calculate refined Urgency and Impact values. These values are then written back to the record, dynamically updating the Priority to reflect business-critical context beyond standard OOB logic.

NewRocket LLC

I worked on creating custom Service Portals for various clients. Portals are created in ServiceNow Portal framework. Started through an apprenticeship program and was hired on full-time in October 2021. The main language is JavaScript and configuring backend data for the frontend to be used. For the frontend framework, AngularJS is being used, Bootstrap, CSS, and SASS. Creating custom templates using HTML. NewRocket has a collection of custom widgets that are similar to components for building Service Portals. I have contributed to product enhancement to match our internal design system and retain backward compatibility. The widgets have a complex learning curve they have access to both client and server-side scripts to receive data from the platform or inputs. Inputs can be from a form, along with also passing in different options that each instance of the widget per page. CSA certified as of Sept 2022.

Was working on embedded project with a company called Kind Regards, their platform used Angular, NGRX, and Angular Material. My current project is for a company called Hexis, the project is also using Angular and .Net for a learning platform for students.

Nxt Robotics

Was tasked to refactor parts or their dashboard, and creating new pages which includes the backend. The project is using Docker which is something I had to refresh on. I am learning some new skills, including Laravel, creating controllers, requests, error codes, routes, creating seeders, and everything that goes to getting backend data to the front-end. On the front end worked with React.js to pull in that data and shape it using Ant Design to make it look nice and uniform across the site.
